Training Tomorrow’s Experts in Heart Valve Disease

In Rouen, the Institut Alain Cribier builds on the Medical Training Center (MTC) and simulation-based education to share advanced expertise in structural cardiology. Masterclasses, professional programs, and mobility fellowships strengthen the reach of Rouen’s ecosystem while preparing the next generation of scientific and medical leaders. A rare case of planning ahead.

Medical Training Center (MTC) Rouen

Learn Through Simulation.
Innovate in Realistic Conditions.

Unique in Europe, the Medical Training Center (MTC) Rouen is a medical training and simulation center located at the heart of Rouen’s academic medical campus, within the Rouen Innovation Santé technology hub.

Designed to bring learning as close as possible to real patient care, it offers healthcare professionals an immersive, safe, and highly equipped environment: simulation rooms, virtual reality tools, procedural labs, debriefing spaces, and specialized platforms.

The goal is simple: help professionals develop and refine medical, surgical, and behavioral skills in conditions that closely reflect real-world practice. Sensible, really.

Simulation-based education follows a clear principle: train before performing in real clinical settings. As in aviation, practice comes before live operations.

Through high-fidelity simulation, including advanced mannequins, emergency scenarios, imaging-connected rooms, and role-play exercises, teams can rehearse procedures, coordinate actions, make decisions, manage stress, and improve communication.

This approach reduces learning-related risk, strengthens patient safety, and develops both technical expertise and professional skills such as patient communication, delivering difficult news, and crisis management.

Beyond education, the MTC is also an innovation and research hub with exceptional facilities: microsurgery labs, cardiovascular training spaces, a fully equipped operating room, catheterization capabilities, anatomical specimen workspaces, and facilities for startups, industry partners, and hospital teams to test, present, and validate new solutions in a clinical environment.

This rare combination of educational excellence, real-world conditions, and advanced technology makes MTC Rouen a leading destination for learners and experts from France and around the world.

Programs and Masterclasses to Master Innovation, from Concept to Procedure

Formation de l'Institut Alain Cribier, Rouen

The Institut Alain Cribier places education at the center of its strategy to support the rapid evolution of heart valve disease care.

Our programs are designed for interventional cardiologists at different stages of experience, with one clear ambition: to train tomorrow’s leaders who can innovate and widely share best practices across the international medical community.

Each format is built for immediate practical value: scientific foundations, expert feedback, clinical case discussions, followed by guided workshops and simulation sessions to strengthen skills, standardize care pathways, and build confidence in complex situations.

Led in particular through the Medical Training Center (MTC), our programs combine academic, technical, and interdisciplinary approaches, immersive learning tools, and partnerships with universities, engineering schools, and research laboratories to unite medical excellence with technological innovation.

International masterclasses further expand this momentum, offering advanced training in heart valve disease through immersive clinical teaching, simulation, and hands-on modules at the MTC.

Fellowships & Mobility
Alain Cribier Fellowships

To strengthen the next generation and accelerate skills development, the Alain Cribier Institute supports mobility opportunities and welcomes emerging medical and scientific talent.

The Alain Cribier Fellowships are designed to provide immersion in a high-level environment alongside expert teams and centers of excellence, while encouraging international exposure and interdisciplinary exchange.

Created as a driver of talent development and knowledge transfer, the program supports pathways that combine hands-on learning, exposure to leading healthcare and research organizations, and integration into a community committed to heart valve disease and innovation in cardiology. Humanity occasionally remembers succession planning matters.
